    Job summary

    The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Sales and Services Automation team is looking for a Salesforce Technical Lead to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be focused on designing and implementing sales and service experiences, capabilities, and architectures to bring overall corporate strategies to life. You’ll help us deliver outstanding business transformation through scalable, productive, and efficient automation, specifically designed to improve the overall performance of our sales and services team and directly impact overall customer experience in a positive way. You’ll serve as a technical advisor to the business, partner with product owners relating to user stories and epics, and guide solutions that best situate Red Hat for success. As a Salesforce Technical Lead, you should be an experienced and passionate technologist who thrives in a collaborative environment, surrounded by talented, motivated individuals.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Deliver Salesforce.com (SFDC) solutions on SFDC cloud, Service Cloud, SFDC communities, and the Force.com platform
    • Serve as a technical subject matter expert role on projects to design SFDC solutions and provide technical walk-throughs to SFDC developers and administrators
    • Manage technical risk and provide technical leadership on projects by providing necessary guidance to other team members to follow SFDC best practices
    • Be accountable for SFDC technical delivery; build system testing handover and coordination, technical documentation, and deployment activities
    • Play lead in reviewing epics and user stories, convert functional requirements into technical requirements, participate in and guide through story estimation, plan team capacity, and work closely with the scrum master to finalize sprint scope
    • Analyze and identify gaps in functional and business requirements; discuss and elaborate with product owners on required changes that align with the SFDC stack and architecture
    • Guide others to develop end-to-end SFDC solutions using configuration and customization involving tools like APEX Class, Triggers, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, etc. Occasional coding may be required
    • Build integrations between SFDC and external applications using REST, SOAP APIs, oAuth, and Single Sign-On
    • Guide team to work with release engineers for scheduling and migrating changes from development to test and production environment(s); validate that proper test coverage exists prior to release
    • Effectively debug and resolve technical issues or defects (as an escalation point) which may be reported as a result of faults in the production system
    • Assist with business-facing presentations, demos, proofs of concepts, and mock-ups

    Required skills

    • 10-15 years of total IT experience with at least 7+ years of SFDC development experience
    • Solid SFDC customization and configuration experience
    • Direct development experience using SFDC configuration and customizations using Apex, Visualforce, Triggers, Scheduled, and Batch classes, etc.
    • Proven integration experience using integration techniques like REST, SOAP APIs, oAuth, and Single Sign-On
    • Ability to guide migration and migrate SFDC classic features to Lightning experience, including converting Visualforce pages to Lightning Components and using Lightning Design System (LDS) with Visualforce pages
    • Knowledge of the product development life cycle and DevOps tools like Git
    • Thorough understanding of SFDC deployment processes
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a creative, agile environment and manage agile task assignments
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, IT, computer engineering, or a related IT discipline, or equivalent experience
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and lead development teams to ensure timely software development deliverables
    • SFDC certification is a big plus
    • Development experience in UI technologies like Bootstrap, LDS, Lightning Components development, AngularJS, jQuery, or JavaScript is a plus
