    Job summary

    The Red Hat Internal Audit team is looking for an Internal Audit Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will assist with carrying out financial, operational, and strategic risk-based audits and testing SOX 404 controls. You will familiarize yourself with Red Hat’s global operations and develop solid working relationships with Internal Audit team members and stakeholders.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Assist with internal audit planning and risk assessment activities
    • Assist with carrying out financial, operational, and strategic audits
    • Prepare work papers, schedules, and summaries
    • Evaluate the sufficiency of and adherence to internal policies and procedures
    • Perform internal control testing that supports the external audit of internal controls
    • Proactively interact with management and stakeholders to gather information, analyze data, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvement

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other qualified, business-related discipline
    • Solid analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess business processes and solve complex problems; knowledge of data analytics tools or processes is a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrated exceptional leadership ability and team building skills
    • Commitment to quality, willingness to challenge current practice and innovate, and continuous improvement mindset
