    Job summary

    The Red Hat User Experience Design (UXD) team is looking for a User Experience (UX) Writer Intern to join our growing team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will work as a writer among a team of UX designers. Your main focus will be creating content to grow our audience and strengthen our digital presence. You'll craft long and short-form content for blogs, social media, and other digital platforms. Using your writing and communication skills, you'll work with other team members to create supporting resources like presentations and videos. As a User Experience (UX) Writer Intern, you will also support our UX designers with writing help as needed.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Research and write blog posts that bring the UXD team's story to life 
    • Help establish and carry out a UXD team social media strategy
    • Work with UXD team members and leadership to update our online presence
    • Contribute to our growing set of UX writing standards for the PatternFly design system to help establish a unified voice across offerings and platforms

    Required skills

    • Progress toward a graduate degree in communications, English, journalism, or related discipline
    • Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills
    • Proven ability to work on your own


    Experience with or interest in any of the following is a plus:

     

    • Brand development 
    • Content management
    • Agile development
    • Open source projects
    • Design systems

    Candidates must present a portfolio of writing samples (include links to work within your resume).
