    Job summary

    The Red Hat Commercial Legal team is looking for an Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will conduct legal research and analysis and assist with licensing matters including open source. You’ll need to have great critical thinking and analysis skills. As an Intern, you will have a great opportunity to work with a variety of experienced legal and technical professionals in a fast-paced setting.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Conduct legal research on key issues facing Red Hat and prominent issues in the technology and open source industries
    • Provide support and assistance to Red Hat’s commercial attorneys worldwide on various matters
    • Help construct and manage legal and related information repositories

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Legal research and writing skills
    • Excellent computer and IT skills including work with spreadsheets and document management systems
    • Solid contract review skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to quickly synthesize and explain complex legal issues
    • Currently enrolled in a J.D. degree program at an ABA accredited law school; graduating no sooner than December 2019, preferably 2L or 3L student
    • Technical or software background is a plus
