    Job summary

    The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Solutions Engineering Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work with solutions architects to create scalable combinations of people, process, and technology that will ensure best practices in campaign planning and implementation, lead generation, segmentation, and data management. You’ll need to stay up to date on industry and technology trends, write detailed technical documentation, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance our marketing infrastructure. As a Solutions Engineering Intern, you will work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once which will involve stakeholders from across the company.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop web-based applications using JavaScript, e.g., React.js, Node.js, or Meteor, HTML, and CSS
    • Create and maintain NoSQL, e.g., MongoDB, and SQL, e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB, databases
    • Interact with third-party APIs, e.g., Salesforce.com (SFDC), Eloqua, or ServiceNow, to enhance and automate tasks
    • Develop integration using a service-oriented-architecture tools, e.g., REST APIs, and various business rules engines, including custom rules
    • Enhance technical components of key marketing systems, e.g., marketing automation, and customer relationship management (CRM), used to plan and carry out campaigns and generate, distribute, and report on leads
    • Evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize marketing performance
    • Create and run manual test cases and implement automated testing wherever possible
    • Contribute to detailed technical documentation, including user stories, data-flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, statements of work (SoWs), and blog posts

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Current graduate-level student with 4+ years of work experience or bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field
    • Record of using agile and scrum development processes to develop software
    • Great problem-solver; ability to learn on your own and work in an ambiguous environment
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment, across time zones, and with different cultures
    • Experience with JavaScript web application technologies like React.js, Node.js, or Meteor
    • Experience with version control tools like Git
    • Experience with build tools like webpack, Grunt, or Gulp, etc.
    • Experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins
    • Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, Enzyme, or JUnit
    • Experience designing using HTML and CSS or SASS
    • Experience with marketing automation systems like Eloqua or ExactTarget or CRM systems like SFDC is a plus
    • Experience developing in container-base Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools like Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, or Kubernetes is a plus
