    Job summary

    The Red Hat Employment Branding and Experience team is looking for a Program Manager focusing on employment branding events to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, delivery, and management of Red Hat's internal and external events that promote our company and our brand. You'll be accountable for all aspects of the program from messaging to metrics. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and creative professional with demonstrated success in creating and carrying out targeted conferences and events. As a Program Manager, you will be the practical operation lead in the day-to-day management and delivery of all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, team and vendor management, contract management, and analysis and reporting.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Manage multidimensional global events programs and strategies
    • Identify overarching event agenda, programs, and experiences required to support strategy and overall attendee goals and experience
    • Determine a 3-5 year strategy and tiered decision and support model
    • Guide an internal cross-functional team to use the infrastructure and processes required to successfully carry out the event strategy and objectives
    • Create, guide, and manage a comprehensive timeline and RACI matrix for the core and extended teams and all vendors; communicate important deadlines to team weekly
    • Serve as a point of contact and consultant for all event production and management, including audiovisual, internet, mobile applications, registration, housing, space allocation, and all other aspects
    • Manage all suppliers from initial briefing to on-site delivery; oversee external relationships which support direct efforts and collaborate closely to develop and successfully carry out events
    • Guide the entire event production strategy and organization for a wide variety of programs and audiences like diversity and inclusion events, jobs events, corporate technology conferences, etc.
    • Work with the Communications team on a communication plan
    • Guide the core and extended teams' workstream meetings internally in addition to weekly vendor operations meetings
    • Actively work with the Creative, Brand, and Marketing teams while consulting on how to make that experience come to life and advise on the impacts of production of the overall event
    • Define and lead a global sponsorship framework that supports all of Red Hat and regional-level events to present value to our key partners
    • Monitor, measure, and report event implementation and results

    Required skills

    • Ability to manage budgets and provide exceptional tracking and monitoring while working with corporate finance; ability to understand the big picture while still attending to important details
    • 5+ years of experience in successful event management and in B2B, high-tech, and fast-paced environments
    • Ability to manage your own workload and actively raise any issues to management
    • Leadership and management experience in bringing together large internal and external teams to organize an excellent event; committed to managing vendors and internal teams
    • Passion for and experience with collaboration and partnership with multiple functions
    • Ability to thrive on teamwork and overcome obstacles together
    • Solid project management and interpersonal communications skills
    • Good sense of humor and ability to interact with others
    • Creative thinker; open to idea exploration with solid problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to travel 20-35% annually
    • Ability to source appropriate suppliers for the required job, clearly communicate specific and detailed feedback, and negotiate with suppliers on behalf of Red Hat
