Senior Specialist Solutions Architect

The Red Hat Presales team is looking for a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in the Raleigh, NC area. In this role, you'll support Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift sales efforts as a top technical expert. You’ll use your business insight to present executive lT leadership with compelling business and technical cases for Red Hat’s solutions. As a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect, you will collaborate with the broader Sales team and technical delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions using the Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift solutions suites. You’ll need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills because you'll serve as a trusted adviser in Red Hat's enterprise and strategic customer base.

• Become a trusted adviser within Red Hat's customer base while building solid, lasting relationships with customers
• Create enterprise solutions that increase business value using Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift solutions; educate prospective customers on the capabilities and benefits of these solutions
• Participate in and assist with defining account strategy with broader account teams
• Demonstrate the capabilities of Red Hat Middleware and Red Hat OpenShift solutions as part of enterprise middleware solutions
• Mentor fellow middleware solutions architects on best practices and field and technical learnings
• Understand current technology and industry trends; connect trends to customer value and Red Hat’s solutions
• Guide and assist with proofs of concepts, workshops, and seminars
• Work cross-functionally within Red Hat to deliver on customer and account team expectations
• Participate in and guide vertical and industry-specific subject matter expert teams; create white papers, reference architectures, and other industry-specific technical collateral
• Serve as an evangelist for the solutions by presenting to local user groups and at selected conferences

• Bachelor's degree; master's degree is a plus
• 5+ years of experience with full life cycle Java application development, including proven middleware architecture experience
• Experience with DevOps and agile best practices
• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
• Ability to concisely explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and present key business and technical value for solutions architecture
• Excellent presentation skills; ability to present to mixed business, technical, management, and leadership audiences of all sizes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel frequently
• Presales and sales engineering experience is a plus
