    Job summary

    The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) Operations team is looking for a Quality Engineering Intern to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will help us maintain our exceptional quality standards while developing complex tools using a multitude of technologies, including cloud, virtualization and configuration management. You'll be responsible for supporting a large community of developers and quality engineers. As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will develop software to promote system integration. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest engineers in open source.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Design, enhance, and maintain the continuous integration (CI) and test case management system toolset according to relevant needs
    • Stay in continuous communication with internal customers, including progress reports
    • Maintain updated technical documentation, e.g., environment diagrams, workflows, and processes

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Current student pursuing a degree in IT or computer science
    • Familiarity with SQL
    • Familiarity with at least one language like Python, Perl, Bash, or Ruby; other languages will also be considered
    • System understanding and problem-solving capabilities
    • Solid innovation skills and a passion for technology
    • Ability to work on your own in a fast-paced environment
    • Written and verbal communication skills; fluent language skills in English
    • Experience with the Linux operating system is a plus
    • Experience with source code control tools like Git and GitHub is a plus
