    Job summary

    The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Digital Communications Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team, curating content, developing messaging, and providing analysis to help us meet internal (to the team) and external (broader Red Hat and beyond) audiences’ communications needs and goals. You will be responsible for activities related to intranet content, video storytelling, and internal awareness and engagement. As a Digital Communications, you will draft abstracts and content for data and analytics-focused conferences and events, oversee the creation and design of whitepapers, and develop and carry out social media campaigns for senior leadership. This is a great opportunity to get experience with a broad range of communications channels and tactics.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Design graphic assets for a variety of channels, including our intranet, digital signs, video, e-newsletters, and campaigns
    • Perform research and analysis to make recommendations on expanding the EDA communications (blog, social media, etc.)
    • Identify and draft content that supports EDA’s thought leadership strategy and campaigns, including social media, whitepaper creation, etc.
    • Contribute ideas to the overall communications and change management strategy for the EDA team

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, or a related field; current enrollment in a communication-related graduate program
    • Solid written and verbal language skills in English
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
    • Solid critical thinking skills to ask questions and complete analysis
    • Skills in HTML using web templates, video editing, and design (Adobe Creative Cloud) is a plus
    • Experience with data and analytics is a plus
