    Job summary

    The Red Hat Business Operations team within the Global Marketing team is looking for a Business Operations Analyst Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will help us redefine how we enable marketers to plan and budget more efficiently and measure returns more effectively. You’ll need to be eager to learn about global business operations and provide tactical implementation support to the team's global planning, change management, and financial controls initiatives. As a Business Operations Analyst Intern, you’ll need to have a unique blend of moderate IT system administration experience and solid business insight. You’ll have a heavy focus on optimizing existing budgeting and planning tools and supporting the roll-out of new ones across the global marketing team.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Take care of ad hoc reporting and communications requests across the Global Marketing team
    • Prepare materials for internal presentations, memos, and projects; create training documentation and videos
    • Contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT) for new features or platforms being rolled out in support of budgeting and planning initiatives
    • Identify tooling deficiencies, conduct user and technical research and analysis, and recommend solutions based on your findings
    • Support the development of needed project deliverables, including roadmaps, project plans, and communications plans

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Completed at least your junior year of college; MBA is a plus
    • Solid planning and organizational skills; attention to detail, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and flexibility when a change in course is needed quickly
    • Exceptional analytical and communication skills with substantial experience using spreadsheet and presentation applications
    • Basic understanding of data modeling and data organization
    • Ability to work on your own effectively without continuous oversight
    • Good problem-solving skills, ability to find creative solutions to business challenges, and focus on details
    • Customer-focused, empathetic, and patient; enthusiastic about teaching other people new things
    • Ability to explain complex topics simply and visually
    • Comfortable with technical conversations; basic understanding of database structures, analytics platforms, process analysis, and software development
    • Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to stay calm in an ever-changing environment
