The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a skilled Intern to join our OpenStack Storage team in Boston, MA. In this role, you will help with the development of our open source storage solutions.This internship will give you unique insight into life at Red Hat and the opportunity to build a valuable network of peers and professionals while contributing to our Red Hat OpenStack Platform cloud solution. This summer internship will give you the opportunity to gain real-world experience using your development skills to help create the next generation of tools for Red Hat. You will have the opportunity to participate in regular Red Hat programs, including lunch-and-learns with executives, volunteer opportunities, day trips, and different after work events.
OpenStack Cinder Project
The OpenStack Cinder project needs to update the technology it uses to manage database updates and at the same time redesign the update process so that it can be performed with no downtime, where different versions of the software can communicate with the database without reduced functionality during the upgrade. As part of this project, you will learn how to use the SQLAlchemy object-relational mapper and the Alembic database migration tool and other associated Python libraries.
