    Job summary

    The Red Hat Product Management team is looking for a Product Manager to join us in Boston, MA and help us build the next generation of high-availability, disaster recovery, and distributed, multi-site solutions for the Red Hat portfolio of offerings. In this role, you will work across Red Hat's entire infrastructure portfolio, including our Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), container, and management offerings. Your goal will be to evaluate, develop, and implement high-availability, disaster recovery, and distributed computing options and portfolio of offerings integrations based on sound and nuanced customer, market, and partner use cases. You'll help define the overall high-availability, disaster recovery, and multi-site deployment roadmap, product integration and release planning, and go-to-market strategies while collecting input from customers, analysts, the open source community, and internal stakeholders to promote the delivery of innovative solutions to the market. As a Product Manager, you'll also define market problems to be solved, personas, use cases, and market-based requirements and solutions for enterprise-level offerings. Finally, you'll make sure that the roadmaps of product teams include high-availability, disaster recovery, and multi-site deployment integration requirements.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Lead strategy and delivery of Red Hat's high-availability, disaster recovery, and distributed, clustered computing solutions across the Red Hat line of offerings, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat OpenStack Platform use cases
    • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of solving market and customer problems
    • Lead the strategy and delivery of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) high-availability strategy on premises, multi-site, and in virtualized and cloud deployments
    • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan in support of solving the enterprise and telecommunications (telco) market and customer problems
    • Lead the strategy and delivery of Red Hat OpenStack Platform multi-site deployment solution
    • Gather suite and solution use cases across multiple Red Hat's offerings based on competitive analysis, customer interviews, and partner inputs
    • Define and document market problems and opportunities and promote persona, user stories, and business cases as part of the product specification and socialization process
    • Help to achieve agreement among and collaborate with other product managers to align their roadmaps and ensure suite and solutions success
    • Have a clear understanding of competitive and partner solutions
    • Collaborate with the Product Engineering team to determine priorities, plan releases, and maintain roadmaps of our offerings
    • Work closely with the Product Marketing team to develop positioning and go-to-market strategy; serve as an evangelist to inform and educate the user community on our offerings
    • Maintain solid relationships and regular communication with the Sales, Professional Services, Quality Engineering (QE), Documentation, and Customer Support teams
    • Work effectively in matrixed organizations using agile methodologies

    Required skills

    • 3+ years of experience as a product manager for open source or enterprise software products
    • Experience with Pacemaker, VMware, or other enterprise-level high-availability solutions is a big plus
    • Experience with infrastructure software including virtualization, containers, private cloud, public cloud, cloud management platform, replicated storage, and cluster file systems is a plus
    • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time
    • Prior success in gaining agreement across cross-product integrations is a big plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
