    Job summary

    The Red Hat Security Technologies Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineering Intern with C and JavaScript programming experience to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work as part of diverse teams of talented individuals on projects related to the Identity Management ecosystem in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and session recording using Tlog and Cockpit. You'll use both your technical skills, mainly in the C and JavaScript programming languages, and your soft skills when coordinating with engineers and open source community members on these projects. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source industry.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work on development, productization, and maintenance of the series of projects under the Scribery umbrella, mainly Tlog and aushape
    • Design and work on integration of Red Hat session recording and common logging

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Development experience in C
    • JavaScript or similar programming experience
    • Ability and experience designing complex multi-component, multi-system solutions
    • Ability to work as part of a team and establish good, trusting relationships with new people
    • Knowledge of the Linux operating system and its development tools; any distribution is acceptable
    • Desire to learn and solve challenging problems


    The following are considered a plus:


    • Experience with JavaScript frameworks
    • Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) and related frameworks
    • Familiarity with agile and scrum practices
