    Job summary

    The Red Hat DevOps team is looking for a Software Engineer with 2-10 years of experience to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining services, applications, and tools used by our engineering teams. You'll need to have excellent software development and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a growing and evolving environment. You'll serve as a technical lead for small projects and mentor junior team members. As a Software Engineer, you'll need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with a global engineering team. You'll also need to be flexible and motivated with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Participate in software development following best practices
    • Perform problem-solving
    • Research problem domains
    • Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues
    • Perform root cause analyses
    • Serve as a technical lead for one to three-person projects or sub-projects
    • Lead code and peer reviews
    • Participate in process improvements
    • Communicate throughout the organization

    Required skills

    • Solid knowledge of and experience with Python
    • Experience with Git and code reviews
    • Linux power user knowledgeable and experienced in many Linux areas
    • Solid knowledge of continuous integration (CI) tools
    • Ability to coordinate and help others solve difficult problems
    • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
