    Job summary

    The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Corporate Social Media Intern to join our Corporate Social Media team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will assist with activities, events, and programs across Red Hat’s Corporate Communications and broader Marketing Communications teams. You’ll need to be detail-oriented and have solid written and verbal communication skills. As a Corporate Social Media Intern, you’ll also need to be comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously while under the pressure of deadlines.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Support the team that manages Red Hat’s corporate social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.; monitor social media conversations and activity
    • Draft social media copy and content; proofread and edit social media materials
    • Maintain social media content repositories and image libraries; work with Red Hat’s Design and Content teams to deliver engaging creative collateral
    • Support the overall Corporate Communications team and program, assisting with audience and channel research
    • Equip Red Hat’s associates on social media across the globe with shareable content
    • Prepare measurement reports and social media dashboards
    • Create social media marketing education and enablement materials

    Required skills

    • Ability to work full-time hours during summer 2020 in the location listed
    • Familiarity with social media and the role it plays in promoting brand awareness, engagement, and traffic
    • Ability to pick up new tools and concepts quickly; experience with social media management or listening tools preferred is a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, research, and problem-solving skills
    • Solid organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
    • Enthusiastic and flexible with the ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to quickly build rapport and collaborate with various teams on a daily basis
    • Proactive and highly responsive


    The following are considered a plus:


    • Experience working in social media marketing
    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
    • Clear, concise, and engaging communication skills
