    Job summary

    The Red Hat Global Business Finance team is looking for a Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will perform sales and financial analysis in support of the Global Sales Field Reporting and Analytics team, with the opportunity to serve as a global business finance leader. The primary focus of this role is carrying out impactful projects to proliferate topline sales performance analytics, enhancing forecast accuracy, and innovating global standardized sales productivity metrics. You’ll frequently cooperate with key leadership teams in regional business finance, operations, sales, people (HR), and IT departments across the globe. Learning and grasping the Red Hat corporate and sales strategy will be critical for success in this role. You’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your quantitative analysis skills and to develop a well-rounded business savvy through working with senior leadership. You should be passionate and have solid analytical skills.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Proliferate topline sales performance analytics and streamline the reporting process, e.g. establishing a cadence and serving as the go-to resource for revenue, bookings, billings, discounting, linearity, pipeline, and more
    • Guide cross-functional initiatives with global and regional HR, finance, and operations teams to increase predictability of established and new sales success metrics
    • Establish globally standardized sales productivity metrics by pioneering best practice methodologies to compute key measures; guide adoption of these metrics across regional sales, finance, and operations teams
    • Provide global thought and operational leadership across diverse functional areas
    • Partner with shared services analysis team in India to drive net new analysis requirements and facilitate the development of reporting and insights
    • Make use of a robust internal data science function and bring brand new insight to sales metrics
    • Develop into a leader in the technology industry, becoming an expert in the relevant financial management concepts

    Required skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a quantitative field; MBA is a plus
    • Solid relationship management skills
    • Outstanding mathematical and analytical skills
    • 4+ years of related professional experience
    • Excellent spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large data sets and performing analysis
    • Previous experience in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
    • Good understanding of Hyperion system
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Engilsh
    • Experience with analytical tools, e.g. Tableau, Qlikview, R, SAS Visual Analytics, etc.
    • Experience with using data mining tools like Business Objects (BOBJ) or SAS
    • Ability to consistently work extended hours during periods of high demand, especially during the quarter and year-end periods; may include weekends
    • Coachable, energetic, ambitious, team-focused, results-oriented, and detail-oriented
