    Job summary

    The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a highly skilled Quality Engineering Intern to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will have an opportunity to make a difference in the way multi-product test automation is built. You’ll gain deep understanding of a complete portfolio of our solutions and related technologies, including virtualization, cloud, and storage technologies. You’ll make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability criteria compared to competing offerings. As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will create and implement test plans, research new features, and develop automated tests. You’ll need to have the ability to think creatively and adapt to rapid change and the willingness to learn new things.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with the complete Red Hat’s solutions portfolio and be actively involved in and responsible for the definition and implementation of multi-product test scenarios
    • Develop new automated tests, design and develop new test frameworks and automation, analyze current solutions, and suggest improvements
    • Participate in code reviews and provide input on the code design
    • Work with Red Hat product QE teams to identify and integrate existing tests into multi-product customer scenarios
    • Participate in and perform root cause analyses of issues to get a starting point to address problems

    Required skills

    • College student in computer science or software engineering
    • Basic development and scripting abilities using Python or Bash
    • Basic knowledge of the Linux operating system
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Ability to assist in and perform root cause analysis of issues, possibly spanning multiple components and subsystems, and develop reproducers
    • Familiarity with source code control tools like Git and GitHub is a plus
