    Job summary

    The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Sales Enablement + Development Regional Advocate join us in McLean, VA. In this position, you will be a member of Red Hat’s Sales Enablement and Development team, reporting to Red Hat’s Global Senior Manager of Sales Enablement. You will be a key partner to Red Hat’s North America (NA) Public Sector sales teams responsible for delivering programs that improve sales competence, sales confidence, and executive-level selling skills through implementation of consultative selling practices. This position requires you to be results-oriented and passionate about helping sales executives exceed sales targets by focusing on the development of a specific set of sales skills. You are responsible for fielding inbound requests from sales professionals, sales leaders, and sales support teams in the North American Public Sector (NAPS) region on the topics of sales enablement, development, and talent management, then measuring against existing programs to identify gaps and ultimately support the greater Sales Enablement team to develop new potential programs for pilot or implementation. You should be an entrepreneurial person who thrives on working in a high-energy work environment. You should expect to travel over 50% of the time to various U.S. locations to engage and lead conversations and working group sessions with the sales teams, managers, and sales leadership. You’ll report to the Senior Sales Enablement and Development (SE+D) Manager and SE+D programs and advocates, working directly with the sales teams toward building, sustaining, and measuring best practices in the implementation of global sales, pipeline generation, and sales skills mastery.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Build outstanding and sustainable relationships with senior sales leaders
    • Support and carry out a global talent management strategy for regional sales teams
    • Uncover gaps in current programs, processes, and skills across your assigned Red Hat sales team and present findings back to the sales and HR team leadership and internal partners
    • Be responsible for regionalization and ultimate delivery of existing sales enablement programs
    • Be responsible for understanding varying maturity within the region to position the right programs to the right audiences
    • Maintain close alignment to all managers, from geo sales leadership to front line sales managers, to understand their goals and challenges and gather feedback to share back with the greater SE+D team
    • Manage multiple programs simultaneously, as determined, based on need or prioritization
    • Assess the performance of the sales teams with sales leaders and members of the HR team to prioritize enablement strategies, tactics, and delivery to the field
    • Partner with local sales professionals and first-line managers to deliver development programs and processes
    • Represent the sales team in the development of large sales-focused events, including sales kick-offs, partner events, and large sales management meetings, etc.
    • Continually work on evolving global enablement programs based on feedback from the sales region
    • Carry out role-based training sessions when required
    • Work directly with sales curriculum architects and Red Hat University to regionalize sales on-boarding programs, sales management programs, and an on-going sales education for sales teams
    • Design and implement metrics to measure program impact, effectiveness, appropriateness, and utility
    • Measure and report on the effectiveness of sales enablement investments in the region
    • Facilitate the on-going sales enablement program delivery via sales enablement team, other internal corporate resources, and select outside experts, as needed
    • Support and assist with the development of junior SE+D team members
    • Maintain a positive, can-do attitude and support the Red Hat culture

    Required skills

    • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts
    • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills
    • 3+ years of sales, sales operations, or sales enablement experience
    • Experience designing sales enablement programs, sales training, or working in a similar sales support role
    • Familiarity with the sales processes
    • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of complex technical acquisition and sales strategy implementation
    • Ability to take high-level sales strategies and develop structured plans, actions, and metrics to measure during the implementation
    • Outstanding project and program management skills and ability to work on multiple tickets at the same time to manage disparate enablement programs
    • Familiarity with the sales processes
    • Event planning experience is a plus
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% across the United States and Canada
