    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for a Technical Editor Intern to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work across our global technical content development team to support the delivery of exceptional customer content for Red Hat’s offerings and solutions. You will gain direct experience editing technical content on a range of topics, as well as using style guidelines, and practicing our concept of crowdsourcing minimalism. As a Technical Editor Intern, you will work as part of a dynamic and unique technical content community.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Edit written content with a keen eye for style, grammar, punctuation, and minimalism
    • Complete assignments on time and communicate status
    • Collaborate with writers to answer questions and explore alternate solutions
    • Suggest global or structural changes to content that could improve the end-user experience of written content
    • Learn Red Hat’s style guide and documentation conventions to apply them in editing projects
    • Participate in and support crowdsourced minimalism sessions

    Required skills

    • Current enrollment in college or within 6 months of graduation from a professional editing or writing program, or a related discipline
    • Excellent editorial skills including style, grammar, and punctuation
    • Interest in technology
    • Experience with style guides and their use is a plus
    • Previous editing experience is a plus
