    Job summary

    Red Hat's Customer Experience and Operations (CXnO) Project Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Project Management Intern with an interest in project management best practices to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will manage projects to successful completion from initiation, through delivery, to closure, using your collaborative mindset and passion for motivating and supporting project team members. You’ll be responsible for carrying out projects, including project coordination, communication, and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders, which will in turn include formulation of timelines, milestones, and project plans, often requiring extensive coordination with teams across the organization.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Under minimal direction, lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for various projects
    • Facilitate the definition of project scope and deliver a detailed plan for a successful outcome based on project objectives
    • Work with management to ensure that project pipeline grooming and estimation are carried out with precision to inform project portfolio and resource capacity
    • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to managed projects
    • Promote transparency and manage project change using repeatable methodologies and clear communication with project stakeholders from all levels of the organization, ranging from individual contributors to executives
    • Plan and carry out communications and reporting procedures for projects
    • Help identify and clear roadblocks for multiple teams
    • Prepare project documentation, ensuring completeness, and store and maintain appropriately throughout the project
    • Integrate and use specific industry and company-standard project management (PM) and technical delivery methodologies, e.g., PM methodologies based on Project Management Institute (PMI) standards and the CXnO PM life cycle

    Required skills

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English; solid interpersonal and leadership skills and analytical abilities
    • Experience managing complex, multi-team projects
    • Ability to work effectively across a widely diverse management team, as well as a broad spectrum of internal partners
    • Detail-oriented and able to work in a very fast-paced environment
    • Ability to articulate the program and project management value proposition and serve as an evangelist for PM techniques and methodologies
