    Job summary

    The Red Hat Total Rewards team is looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support strategy development and solutions implementation for the United States benefits programs. You'll need broad benefits experience and advanced knowledge of benefits administration and operations, and experience managing compliance activities for all benefit programs including 401(k) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as the lead analyst for U.S. healthcare and retirement plans
    • Create and provide ongoing reporting for health and welfare and retirement programs to support benefits strategy development consistent with Red Hat’s rewards philosophy and talent strategy, using direct market analysis and benchmarking to identify trends and perform cost analysis
    • Partner with internal communications to develop effective and culturally aligned benefits communications across benefit programs
    • Partner with members of the extended team, including Payroll, Benefits Operations, HRIS, and IT for effective delivery of benefits
    • Direct process improvement initiatives related to benefit programs
    • Collaborate and share your current knowledge of benefits-related legislation, e.g., ACA and health care reform, ERISA, FMLA, and ADA; make recommendations for required policy or practice changes
    • Manage relationships with the benefits broker team, third-party benefit plan providers, and other external vendors
    • Review and recommend changes to benefits documentation, e.g. contracts, plan documents, and summaries
    • Collaborate and provide subject matter guidance to People (HR) team associates and management on a variety of benefit matters including handling benefit escalations
    • Ensure operations and processes are efficient and scalable to support the growth of Red Hat
    • Produce and maintain documentation related to administrative benefit processes and policies
    • Work with Red Hat HR Infrastructure team to determine, implement, and manage how programs are delivered to our associates

    Required skills

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 8+ years of experience in the development and administration of benefits programs; experience as a benefits program manager or analyst in a large, shared services environment is a plus
    • Solid analytical abilities specific to employee benefit program market positioning, cost drivers, and financial
    • Compliance and operations knowledge across all benefit programs, including an understanding of how payroll, IT, and HRIS teams collaborate to effectively administer programs
    • History of delivering results and operating as an internal consultant across all levels of management with the ability to build close relationships, shape decisions, and gain trust as an adviser
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Experience working in a rapidly growing and high-volume environment
    • Experience managing compliance activities related to all benefit programs (401(k), ACA, etc.)
    • Ability to manage time away from work with large volume and diverse leaves program
    • Experience managing voluntary benefit programs
