    Job summary

    The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for a Principal Product Marketing Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC; Westford, MA; or remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and carrying out the messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in the mid-market space. You'll also develop marketing collateral and sales tools that will be used by Red Hat's Sales team and partners. As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally and globally with numerous teams, including Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, Partner Management, Field Marketing, Channel Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Services. You will conduct research, craft market strategies, and develop content to support demand generation and enable field sales and Red Hat channel partners. You’ll be in charge of developing, communicating, and implementing upon a compelling marketing business plan. You’ll need to be able to understand customer needs and develop compelling messaging, as you will spend time in front of customers and partners. Qualified remote candidates in the U.S. will be considered for this position. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Collaborate with product management teams to ensure marketing plans align with directions and support product roadmap and releases
    • Create concise and compelling core product messaging that embodies key product attributes, including value proposition, positioning, and differentiation
    • Create effective marketing assets and content, including whitepapers, presentations, case studies, solution briefs, web content, data sheets, and sales kits that can be used globally
    • Jointly create technical marketing collateral with technical marketing managers, engineers, and field marketing teams, including technical presentations, whitepapers, and case studies
    • Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like roadshows, workshops, webinars, solutions demos, and industry and partner events
    • Support engagements where required in high-touch accounts worldwide by collaborating with field sales and services teams
    • Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint value propositions
    • Create and maintain internal product marketing newsletter
    • Develop and carry out social media plan and related activities
    • Build and manage asset repository for platform and solutions-related content and provide insights, including broader analytics, to business owners
    • Develop and deliver enablement and training activities for Sales, Presales, and Professional Services teams and partners
    • Collaborate with other product teams to create multi-product and solution marketing materials that address customer use cases and issues

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of software industry experience, preferably within an area of infrastructure software, e.g., operating systems (preferably Linux), virtualization, cloud, or systems management
    • 5+ years of product marketing experience
    • Record of success in a fast-paced technical environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, computer science, or a related area
    • Ability to develop proof points around turning messaging and positioning into high-value assets
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Ability and experience working in an inspirational, persuasion-driven, cross-functional environment
    • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at once in a highly complex environment
    • Ability to communicate the technical value proposition for our offerings and promote our solutions internally and externally
    • Willingness to travel up to  a minimum of 25% especially if working remotely


    The following are considered a plus:

     

    • Product management or campaign management experience
    • Experience marketing to mid-market organizations
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
    • Domain knowledge and experience with open source projects
    • Experience in marketing to mid-market accounts
