    Job summary

    The Red Hat Engineering System Management team is looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work in a small team responsible for the delivery of online applications and closely integrated Red Hat’s technologies at cloud.redhat.com. You’ll work on analyses, design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of individual parts based on a set of rapidly-evolving requirements. Your team will use scrum for project management, multiple programming languages, containers, and Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes as an underlying platform, Amazon RDS as a database, Git as a version-control system, and Slack and Jira for everyday communication. The preferred work location for this position is Red Hat's corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC, however well-qualified, home-based, remote applicants will also be considered.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Deliver new features, identify bottlenecks, and address issues
    • Improve anything that can be improved; find and cover gaps
    • Lead cross-functional communication and cooperation among other globally-distributed engineering teams, product management, UX, and quality engineering (QE) associates
    • Provide demos of what you've achieved during sprint reviews

    Required skills

    • Python development experience
    • Experience with the software development life cycle process
    • Experience with Linux or UNIX platforms
    • Experience with technologies like Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift
    • Experience with Git version control
    • Familiarity with modern methodologies like DevOps, continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD)
    • Experience with agile development methodologies like Scrum
    • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills; solid attention to detail
    • Experience working with a widely distributed team across several time zones
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline
    • Experience delivering Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions is a plus
    • Prior participation in open source software projects is a plus
