    Job summary

    The Red Hat Release Configuration Management (RCM) team is looking for a Project Manager to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will work as part of the RCM team and be responsible for the proper configuration of tools, services, and processes in order to handle the complete life cycle of the releases of our offerings. You’ll own the planning, delivery, and communication of time-sensitive projects. As a Project Manager, you will focus heavily on task management, internal and external team communication, and balancing project priorities, all while working in a fast-paced global environment.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Help the product release teams understand and prioritize requirements
    • Mentor internal and external teams on release engineering processes
    • Assist management with product release issues through triage and escalations
    • Support multiple offerings and releases by helping ensure that content is delivered on time and to specifications
    • Communicate with engineering and management teams across the globe
    • Guide new processes and procedures in the product space to improve the quality, consistency, and automation of the releases of our offerings
    • Coordinate internal and external associates for the improved realization of projects
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
    • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    • Ensure resource availability and allocation
    • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
    • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
    • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
    • Report and escalate to management as needed
    • Manage the relationship with customers and all stakeholders
    • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
    • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and vendors
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in release engineering or project management
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to directly interact with other teams
    • Ability to provide constructive feedback and understand criticism that directly impacts our business goals and objectives
    • Proven experience working as a project administrator in the software sector
    • Solid technical background; understanding of or direct experience with software development and web technologies
    • Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities
    • Task management background with JIRA or similar tools is a big plus
    • Previous experience managing the release of multiple offerings in a production environment is a plus
