    Job summary

    Promote sharing and adoption of our cloud platform technologies, including Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat Runtimes. The Red Hat Commercial Sales team is looking for a Sales Specialist to join us. In this role, you will work with the local sales team to enable customers to define, develop, and deploy their technology modernization strategies. You'll build strategic relationships with executives and key business leaders. As a Sales Specialist, you will endorse our cloud platform solutions, including technologies like Red Hat OpenShift (built on Kubernetes), Red Hat Virtualization technologies, and our modern application services, while leading customers down a path of cultural and technology transformation. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Work with the Mid-Central Sales team to plan the emerging technology strategy within a set of defined accounts
    • Consult with customers to understand their core business drivers and technical requirements
    • Present Red Hat technical solutions and manage emerging technology opportunity cycles with customers from qualification through to decision and procurement
    • Guide customers from their initial interest in agile transformation through the adoption of Red Hat's cloud platform technologies, which will provide the technology foundation for improvement
    • Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives within key accounts to create long-term partnerships
    • Ensure that Red Hat's cloud platform solutions become the first choice for our strategic customer

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of experience in solutions sales, solutions architecture, or agile transformation consulting role
    • 2+ years of experience focused on modern application delivery frameworks and platforms like Kubernetes and Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, Apache Kafka, MuleSoft, Jenkins, Apache Spark, MongoDB, etc.
    • Background in consultative customer engagement with a consulting or technology company or organization
    • Technical experience with enterprise middleware and container technologies
    • Understanding of and experience with agile methodologies and organizational and IT transformation
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to executives at large companies
    • Ability to sell solutions in a multiproduct environment
    • Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
    • Ability to maintain a balance of strategic and tactical skills
