    Job summary

    The Red Hat Public Sector Sales team is looking for a Director to join us on the East Coast. In this role, you will guide a team of sales associates in promoting the success of a multi-offering go-to-market strategy for Red Hat. You'll report to the Vice President and Head of U.S. State and Local Government and Education (SLED) Sales and you’ll be closely involved in developing and implementing growth strategies and a comprehensive solutions approach to reach strategic customers for Red Hat. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Develop, coach, and mentor the Sales team to grow business and promote effective sales strategies
    • Motivate and inspire your team while taking on competitors as Red Hat gains market share in enterprise markets
    • Guide the sales team to achieve quarterly and annual revenue and growth targets by establishing sales goals and monitoring achievement
    • Maintain a close working relationship with other members of the SLED leadership team and contribute to the strategic and tactical success of Red Hat's public sector business and the company as a whole

    Required skills

    • 8+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in an enterprise technology organization
    • 5+ years of experience selling to state, local, and higher education markets
    • Proficiency in profit and loss (P&L) management and marketing strategies that contribute to success
    • Demonstrated ability to use personal knowledge, processes, and solutions selling strategies and methodologies to meet revenue growth objectives
    • Relationship-oriented with a professional appearance and proven ability to build credibility at all levels within a customer organization, including C-level executives
    • Effective approach to managing your team of sales professionals
    • Experience managing approximately a $50M license sales team or $20M subscription sales team is a plus
