    Job summary

    The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Change Communications Specialist to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work within a cross-functional program structure aligned to deliver Workday, a payroll transformation, and a change to our time management capabilities. You’ll support both the internal program team communication needs and the overarching global program change management communication needs. You will connect and collaborate with other communicators and regional partners to ensure change communications are distributed around the globe in a timely manner. You’ll need to be motivated to engage with global stakeholders and the program team, agile in response to changes and needs of various stakeholders, and analytical in identifying risks, opportunities, and dependencies. As a Change Communication Specialist, you’ll need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to write for a variety of internal channels. You’ll also need to have experience developing and deploying change management-driven communications in a corporate setting in support of large-scale initiatives and projects.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Consult on and deliver against the program communications strategy and engage program associates in its implementation
    • Partner closely with change consultants, communications experts, learning consultants, and project managers to design integrated communications
    • Review change impact analyses and identify communications needs specific to target audiences
    • Create and edit content that is aligned to business objectives and the needs of target audiences
    • Consult with the Red Hat Internal Communications team to assure that all communications fall within Red Hat’s guidelines
    • Use qualitative and quantitative data to assess the effectiveness of change and communications activities and determine necessary steps for continuous improvement
    • Support the development of abstracts, presentations, emails, and online content that will enable the program to present its progress, plans, accomplishments, and learnings in a broader context to Red Hat’s associates globally
    • Foster and demonstrate a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, promoting innovation, and exceeding expectations
    • Collaborate, consult, and build solid working relationships

    Required skills

    • Degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
    • 5-8 years of change or communications consulting experience
    • Demonstrated experience designing communications plans based on change management practices
    • Proven writing and editing skills with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct and lively style
    • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relationships and to work as part of a team
    • Proven success working in a global team environment with program and technical associates on a global project
    • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple assignments
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to manage ambiguity, solve complex problems, and exercise mature judgment
    • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
    • Experience with large, complex global business transformation programs is a plus
