    Job summary

    The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a graduate to join us as an Associate Consultant. In this role, you will play a key part as a passionate promoter of the adoption of Red Hat's solutions for our customers by using your technical expertise, software development skills, and soft skills. You will participate in the Red Hat Consulting Launch Program designed for early career consultants to become successful by focusing on your technical and non-technical skills. This position can be based in a number of cities, including New York, NY, Raleigh or Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Los Angeles, CA, or Washington, D.C. and its metropolitan area. You will travel domestically to customer locations at a variable frequency up to weekly.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as a respected Red Hat subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing customer technical, developmental, and strategic IT requirements
    • Impact customer software specifications, designs, testing, and deployment of open source solutions through direct delivery
    • Respond to customer challenges, project escalations, and process exceptions in a dynamic environment in a professional and flexible manner
    • With Red Hat’s project teams, balance technical implementation and delivery with customer expectations


    The Red Hat Consulting Launch Program will guide you along your Red Hat journey in three phases:


    Foundational skills (months 1-2):


    • Learn tools and technologies through enablements designed and taught by Consulting team experts
    • Enhance your skills by engaging in activities designed to take what you already know and apply it to the professional setting
    • Experience Red Hat technologies and solutions and gain direct keyboard experience through in-person training and earn certifications in key technologies


    Field experience (months 3-6):


    • Apply skills learned in the first 2 months by using them on your first customer project
    • Tackle problems in an innovative way in a team-based environment comprised of Red Hat’s consultants and customers as a hands-on-keyboard contributor
    • Become a Red Hat expert and a trusted advisor for customers by delivering complex solutions applied to real-world problems
    • Expand a network of peers, mentors, and advisors that will accelerate your career through constant support and guidance
    • Continue learning and growing through Red Hat training and certifications, Consulting-specific enablements, and more


    Building your brand (month 6-your career):


    • Grow your career through combining your personal talents and passions with the skills you’ve learned and establish your personalized career and development plans
    • Deliver on customer projects as a technical contributor through being an expert on Red Hat’s technologies and software development principles
    • Constantly learn and grow in both technical and non-technical skills to create a well-rounded base for future career paths
    • Continue expanding your network, internal and external, to Red Hat through communities, customers, meetups, and a whole host of other opportunities

    Required skills

    • Passion for solving real-world problems through understanding customer needs and constraints and solving problems by using technology
    • Knowledge of software development methodologies, frameworks, and development principles
    • Well-organized in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
    • Comfortable with heavy collaboration to derive innovative solutions
    • Ability to interact directly with customers across roles and organizations and clearly communicate technical and non-technical concepts
    • Learn quickly, grow, and adapt to new skills
    • Travel up to every week to customer locations throughout the United States and Canada
