    Job summary

    The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Business Analyst to join the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will become the key person helping to transform our analytics capabilities. You’ll need to be able to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision makers. You’ll work directly with internal customers to document and consult on business, data, and system requirements to deliver on new analytics and translate said requirements into wireframes and technical requirements for back and front-end developers. As a Business Analyst, you should have a minimum of five years of experience, knowledge of agile methodologies, and excellent communication skills.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Collect and analyze stakeholder business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team using the Requirements Traceability Matrix and other applicable documentation
    • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements in environments like Tableau
    • Serve as a point of contact with business and technology teams to deploy best practices to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources like Amazon Redshift, Salesforce.com (SFDC), and Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualization
    • Conduct requirements gathering workshops with the Business team and stakeholders with the ability to analyze and help solve problems at their root as well as within their broader context
    • Guide users in data warehousing practices and apply your understanding of building relational data models; model data and metadata to support ad hoc customer requests during the duration of the project
    • Plan, prioritize, and design features for the deployment of offerings
    • Communicate feature release roadmap to customers
    • Compile process flows to analyze dependencies

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field like math, computer science, or engineering; equivalent experience will also be considered
    • 5+ years of experience working in a business analyst role, preferably in business intelligence with data analytics tools
    • Excellent communication skills; ability to converse with both business and technical associates
    • Ability to translate business rules logic into technical requirements
    • Experience with data analysis, requirements elicitation, documentation, and maintenance
    • Experience designing test scripts and scenarios
    • Experience with use cases and user stories for waterfall and agile development; design test scripts and scenarios
    • Motivated, goal-oriented, and enthusiastic about solving tough problems
    • Knowledge of data architecture practices and ETL
    • Technical competency related to IT industry standards and best practices
    • Proficient in communicating and coordinating technology solutions and processes
    • Proficiency in SQL, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Tableau is a plus
