    Job summary

    The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a motivated IT Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team focused on supporting the Red Hat Services (Training and Consulting) team in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work directly with our Training and Consulting business partners, technology delivery teams, and other internal stakeholders to turn the Services vision into reality. You’ll be charged with understanding the business needs, providing solution designs that deliver on intended business outcomes, aligning with our architectural standards, and advancing the delivery maturity of our solutions. As an IT Architect, you will be accountable for capturing, communicating, and iterating on solution designs, as well as working with internal and external partners to move them into implementation as seamlessly as possible. You will ensure that all functional and architecturally-relevant requirements outlined for our services business partners are successfully accounted for as initiatives progress through design, planning, and implementation.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Serve as a solutions architect across multiple concurrent projects for which you will assist or lead in defining the entire solution, including business process, applications, data, integration, security, and infrastructure
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand business and technology capability gaps Consult to evaluate or provide solution options
    • Perform discovery, analysis, and design workshops for teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds; workshops will shape internal business partners’ use cases and architecture design decisions
    • Identify, evaluate, and select vendor solutions to meet business needs; participate in RFI and RFP processes and vendor evaluations
    • Develop the architecture and technical implementation for on-premises, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and hybrid solutions
    • Socialize the solutions architecture with multiple stakeholders across the business and IT and solicit feedback
    • Work with vendors to understand their technology and feature roadmaps and help business and IT teams plan accordingly
    • Align technical solutions with enterprise business and technology strategies, partnering with the principal architect for the portfolio to ensure strategic fit and alignment with corporate and industry norms and best practices

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree or higher
    • 2-5 years of experience working as a solutions architect with responsibility for defining target state architecture for solutions
    • Experience developing target architectures that cover business, application, data, and technology to meet specific business and non-functional requirements
    • Expertise in applications development, including integration techniques and patterns, data modeling and patterns, security patterns, Red Hat OpenShift, Java, enterprise resource planning (ERP), or Salesforce.com (SFDC)
    • Effective interpersonal skills to inspire and socialize the solution designs and architectural disciplines and patterns
    • Experience with the services, finance, or sales business domains
    • Experience with architectural modeling techniques, including ArchiMate, Unified Modeling Language (UML), etc.
    • Demonstrated ability to work as an architectural lead for complex projects
    • Ability to work with senior architects to validate the implementation of solutions in accordance with enterprise standards and best practices
    • Ability to establish trust and maintain relationships at multiple levels of an organization, including business stakeholders, senior managers, technologists, and vendors
    • Comfortable working in a challenging, fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge of DevOps concepts and techniques with automation
