    Job summary

    The Red Hat R&D team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you will standardize processes and create solutions for product teams by delivering changes in a disciplined manner. You'll contribute to the upstream community and work on the productization of the project. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with engineering teams to help ensure Red Hat solutions reach market in a timely fashion with excellent quality. You will streamline tooling, improve solution releases, and guide team processes.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders on product planning, requirements, prioritization and communication
    • Develop new and maintain existing tooling related to security support
    • Perform system analysis, technical research and solutions recommendations
    • Work across project and technology boundaries to promote integrated solutions based on open source offerings
    • Collaborate on releases of our offerings and related processes




    Required skills

    • Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science or a related field and two 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related role
    • 1 year of experience with each programming languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, and Bash; web development technologies including HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, REST APIs, and jQuery; Python and JavaScript frameworks including Django, AngularJS, and PatternFly; quality assurance (QA) and testing frameworks including PyUnit, Selenium, Jasmine, and Protractor; open source database software including PostgreSQL and MariaDB; Jenkins, Red Hat Ansible Automation, Red Hat Ansible Tower, ServiceNow, Git, GitLab, Gerrit, Pagure, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, and containers; continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD); packaging and release management; security standard and compliance; agile, in particular scrum; Linux operating system and administration; and working as part of a globally distributed team with regular and close cooperation with other team members, as well as the open source community
