    Job summary

    The Red Hat Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for a Senior Manager for a team of content strategists, program managers, and writers dedicated to a cloud-related product suite, to join us in Raleigh, NC. As part of a global team, you will work with your peers around the world to deliver our strategic initiatives to develop customer-centric content that supports Red Hat's subscriber base. You should have experience managing multi-function teams in a high-tech, fast-paced environment combined with a passion for improving the customer experience. You’ll play a critical role in guiding the work and direction of the team to create content that is technical, engaging, and easy-to-use.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Lead documentation program managers, content strategists, and writers to ensure that project needs are met to satisfaction
    • Partner with peers in the technology areas to deliver department goals and support the team as a service leader
    • Motivate your team to be fully engaged and productive by ensuring that each individual has appropriate, challenging assignments that contribute to team and departmental goals
    • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities and effectiveness to develop their competencies and to ensure they are meeting the goals and expectations of their role
    • Lead the strategic direction of the CCS team by understanding and communicating the company goals and portfolio strategy
    • Effectively organize and coach the team
    • Ensure proper staffing levels are provided for the teams as development demands grow and new product lines are added through continual discussion and assessment with documentation program managers and the management

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, business, technical communications, or a related field is a plus
    • 2+ years of experience working as a technical writer in an enterprise software organization
    • Demonstrated record of improving customer experience, internal or external
    • Prior management experience, preferably from working as part of a technical publications team
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams from other regions of the world
    • Experience with and passion for delivering change and continual improvement
