    Job summary

Red Hat's Portfolio Field Enablement (PFE) team is looking for a highly skilled Principal Product Manager to join our Field and Customer Engagement team. In this role, you will serve as one of the most highly technical and capable associates at Red Hat within a given solution area. You’ll often get consulted to ensure that we’re successful with some of the most demanding technical implementations and to share your expertise and experience widely across the organization. You will be a highly valued strategic contributor to the success of our technology projects, working closely with our most important customers across all industry sectors worldwide. You’ll need to be able to understand customer needs, roadmaps for our solutions and offerings, and the competitive landscape. You'll be relied upon to help steer the direction of the offerings you represent and you’ll contribute holistically to the overall company strategy based on customer experience through your insider status with product management, engineering, and leadership teams. As a Principal Product Manager, you will operate as part of a team on a cross-portfolio task to address a large subset of Red Hat's solutions portfolio. You’ll need to be an expert in your chosen solutions area, e.g., hybrid cloud infrastructure. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

    • Guide product update and technology synchronization calls across the region, helping to align product strategy and gather field feedback
    • Speak as a technical expert at conferences, support the wider marketing functions, and evangelize our offerings with strategic customer meetings at said events
    • Function as an in-region technical expert, representing product management with field associates and key customers; assist with technical challenges and the coordination of the wider organization on our customers’ behalf
    • Deliver strategic assistance to high-value strategic customers through proactive customer-facing programs for our offerings, helping ensure technical validation and project implementation success

    Required skills

    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, or related fields
    • 5-10 years of enterprise software industry experience working as a product manager, sales engineer, or senior technical consultant; very high degree of technical expertise in your chosen field
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven record of developing relationships across an organization and ability to communicate at all levels
    • Outstanding Linux, storage, and networking skills that will be thoroughly tested prior to any formal interview taking place; deep expertise in a relevant core technology offering, e.g., Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and virtualization, is a big plus
    • Profound expertise with enterprise management, deployment, automation, monitoring, and system administration tooling, ideally with experience in Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Ansible Automation, and container orchestration solutions
    • Solid understanding of the Linux and open source business models and how to articulate and defend the benefits of such a model in both technical and commercial terms
