    Job summary

    The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support our strategic programs, working with the Enterprise Applications (EApps) leadership team within the IT team. You will apply your strategic planning, project management, and business analysis expertise to realization of the EApps strategy.  You'll have the opportunity to work as part of a highly impactful team that partners with the business in managing enterprise applications and leading strategic change programs across Red Hat. You will collaborate with the EApps leadership team to develop, design, and manage multi-year strategic projects with the goal of continuously improving EApps business relationship models, inter-team collaboration, and branding of the EApps team. As a Senior Program Manager, you will manage these workstreams through the full project life cycle. You will deliver quality outcomes within budget and timeline while meeting the expectations of customer satisfaction and business adoption. You'll need to be motivated to engage with our People (HR), IT, Sales, Services, Operations, and Finance teams to guide and enable their success, be agile in response to changes and needs of various stakeholders, and analytical in identifying risks, opportunities, and dependencies across the program.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Understand through research and analysis the market and industry trends in IT and EApps teams capabilities and business partnership models
    • Work in partnership with the EApps leadership team to baseline the current state of the organization through an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses and operational effectiveness
    • Develop a roadmap depicting the evolution of the EApps strategy through a project and strategic tactics portfolio 
    • Identify the organizational impact on skills, processes, technology, and information and financial impact of recommended projects and strategic tactics in support of the EApps strategy
    • Facilitate decisions based on how the organizational impact affects others; promote approaches to identify a shared purpose across multiple stakeholders
    • Support all aspects of program and project management involving planning, developing, organizing, coordinating, and conducting organizational activities to ensure EApps strategic plan implementation
    • Manage processes to keep EApps leadership and the extended team engaged, involved, and well informed
    • Develop and manage communications in support of socializing and increasing understanding of EApps and the strategic direction of the team
    • Partner with key stakeholders, maintain effective working relationships, and provide timely updates on progress
    • Work closely with the EApps leadership and extended teams to ensure alignment of plans
    • Document all work in clear formats

    Required skills

    • 6+ years of experience working in project management
    • 5 + years of experience with strategy and process design
    • Understanding of IT and EApps teams and management
    • Experience participating in digital transformation projects where technology and organizational change go together to deliver long-term sustainability
    • Ability to inspire across a global organization and accept practices and approaches; ability to communicate and shape decisions
    • Demonstrated ability to consult with all levels of leadership across the organization
    • Expertise in facilitating various strategy approaches, methodologies, and frameworks
    • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguities and operating in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into consumable frameworks and concepts to facilitate key decision making and set the future direction
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Comfortable operating in rapidly changing environments
