    Job summary

    The Red Hat Telco Global Sales team is looking for a Program Manager with a record of successfully delivering business results in the telecom service provider and ecosystem sector to join us in in Raleigh, NC, Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, or Sunnyvale CA. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to promote customer success through alignment, coordination, and project management with customers, across all areas of Red Hat and our telecom partner ecosystem. You’ll need to be both technology and sales-focused and have significant demonstrated project and program management experience. You’ll also need to have solid leadership and executive engagement skills to guide alignment across a wide range of stakeholders while representing Red Hat’s global telco business in support of Red Hat sales, partner, and customer business needs. To effectively perform these responsibilities, you’ll need to have experience with both strategic alliances and direct sales, as well as a deep technical understanding of network ecosystem and related business models. Ideally, the role should be based in North America, but we will consider suitably qualified candidates in other locations. As a Program Manager, you will be expected to travel extensively.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Provide advanced program management on large, complex, and strategic customer engagements
    • Align Red Hat and ecosystem partners on presales, sales, proofs of concepts, delivery, and support items
    • Program management internally across all Red Hat’s stakeholders and teams
    • Identify incremental sales opportunities
    • Build trusted relationships with customers and partners to gain deep understanding of the business needs, network infrastructure, and IT and applications environments, enabling a thorough understanding of the landscape in order to program manage initiatives to an effective conclusion
    • Actively collaborate with regional and global teams to align on technology strategy, use case development, and customer proofs of concepts
    • Develop executive relationships and alignment, coordinated closely with Red Hat’s product leadership to ensure that the engagement fits with overall Red Hat’s market, business strategy, and commercial models
    • Maximize overall sales results, including bookings with our network ecosystem partners and joint bookings with end user accounts globally, working toward achieving mutually agreed-upon account plans

    Required skills

    • 10+ years of experience with program management or telecommunications and software industry; deep understanding of Red Hat’s platforms, open source, and customer issues in delivering on the promise of business and network transformation
    • 5+ years of large or global account technical experience; demonstrated excellence in delivering results against an accelerated growth plan
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with diverse senior executives and program owners
    • Highly collaborative work style with proven ability to gather consensus and get support for decisive and timely action
    • Advanced computer science or engineering degree with specialization in networking or communications; record of extensive engagement in open source communities and industry forums is a plus
    • Red Hat telecom portfolio expertise and experience working with telco network equipment providers (NEPs), independent software vendors (ISVs), and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) including Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, Mavenir, Samsung, Juniper, HPE, and Affirmed Networks are a big plus
    • Advanced business, marketing, or program management degree is a plus
