    Job summary

    The Red Hat Transformation Center of Excellence is looking for an IT Change Management Program Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will be a part of the IT Strategy and Enablement team, which will have a hybrid approach to ensuring projects across IT are impactful and effective: enablement of other IT teams to successfully manage change and in some cases design and implementation of effective change plans as part of key IT initiatives. This team will be responsible for the development of change management best practices, standard templates/artifacts, as well as measuring and improving the overall maturity of change management from an IT perspective. You will help set the strategy and priorities within a dedicated team responsible for enablement of change management best practices across IT projects and will need to assess current change management practices within Red Hat and IT, identify gaps and growth opportunities, and implement on a roadmap to improve the overall health of change management within IT projects. You’ll lead a community of change practitioners and individuals with change management responsibilities across the IT teams. You will partner with the Red Hat People (HR) Change Management Practice team to adapt best practices and tools they have created for Red Hat as a whole to the specific needs of projects within the IT teams. You will represent IT as part of the Global Extended Change team, a global network of change ambassadors who will help Red Hatters adopt new behaviors and ways of working across the organization. As an IT Change Management Program Manager, you’ll need to have great communication skills, solid relationship skills, and a strategic mindset to help evolve our change management practices.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Assess, propose, and improve change management practices, processes, tools, and templates on an ongoing basis to ensure most effective impact within the landscape of Red Hat and IT
    • Develop intake request, discovery, and prioritization processes for project teams to request change management consultation and dedicated change practitioner resources
    • Develop and maintain IT change impact calendar to communicate and help with the scheduling of high impact changes and deployments
    • Partner with senior IT leadership to define the strategic areas of focus, mission, and vision of the change management center of excellence
    • Measure the effectiveness and strategic roadmap progress of the center of excellence; report findings to senior IT leadership
    • Partner with peers focused on digital adoption and process improvement to identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration across the transformation center of excellence
    • Represent IT as part of the Global Extended Change team, sharing our successes and adopting lessons learned and best practices from other parts of Red Hat
    • Foster a sense of accountability and cohesion across IT project teams with respect to effective and successful change management practices and planning

    Required skills

    • 5+ years of organizational change management experience
    • Experience in a position responsible for overall health and operation of a given program or community
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience ideally in industrial and organizational (I/O) psychology, business administration, or other disciplines relevant to business leadership and culture
    • Prior experience in delivering projects and navigating customer-facing environments
    • Record of mentoring or teaching others to use organizational change methodologies
    • Ability to apply a structured change management approach and methodology for the people-side change caused by projects and change efforts
    • Prosci, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), Change Management Specialist (CMS), or other change or organizational certifications
    • Ability to independently manage several projects and initiatives simultaneously
    • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
    • Demonstrated abilities to work as part of a team and to lead
    • Process improvement or operating model experience a plus
