    Job summary

    The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager with experience selling high-tech offerings and services to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will build new relationships and expand business with existing customers within an assigned territory or industry, focusing on the public sector. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the sale including price negotiations, contract development, and order fulfillment. As a Sales Account Manager, you will work in a high-growth environment with partner sales, services organizations, and IT and business executives to develop and carry out strategic sales plans.

    Primary job responsibilities

    • Sell Red Hat’s offerings and services within your assigned territory
    • Promote Red Hat's value proposition to prospective customers within a highly competitive market
    • Manage a complex sales cycle from prospect to close
    • Develop and maintain relationships within your assigned accounts

    Required skills

    • 1+ year(s) of experience working in software industry sales
    • Experience selling in a direct and partner model
    • Knowledge of and passion for Linux and open source technology
    • Demonstrated market knowledge of competitive opportunities
    • Exceptional background in quota attainment
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
    • Experience in government or public sector sales is a plus
