Job summary

The Red Hat Product Management team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join us. In this role, you will take ownership of Red Hat Single Sign-On (SSO) related managed offerings. Red Hat SSO is the authentication and authorization provider for web based applications and services in the Red Hat portfolio. You’ll work with the engineering, service delivery, quality, and documentation teams to deliver meaningful services to our customers, and with other product teams across Red Hat to ensure secure and user friendly authorization is implemented across the entire portfolio. As a Principal Product Manager, you’ll also monitor customers, analysts, security researchers, and competitive technologies to ensure that Red Hat solutions keep up with the most secure authentication and authorization practices in the industry. You’ll cooperate closely with the product management team for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Identity and Access Management (RHEL IAM) to ensure customer use cases can be supported across the entire Red Hat stack. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the IAM strategy, including prioritizing features and integrations, setting release dates, and maintaining roadmaps
  • Communicate regularly with customers and Red Hat sales and consulting associates to collect feedback on the product and share product direction
  • Communicate regularly with other managed services teams who depend on IAM capabilities
  • Draft user stories for the product development team, participate in an agile development process, and prioritize work to meet strategic Red Hat goals
  • Coordinate product development, service delivery (SRE), documentation creation, marketing content, and field enablement with RHEL IAM team
  • Present Red Hat SSO and related services at industry conferences and symposiums

Required skills

  • Knowledge of IAM concepts, systems, and protocols including but not limited to Identity Federation, Identity Brokering, OpenID Connect, OAuth, SAML, Active Directory, lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP), Kerberos, role-based access control (RBAC), attribute-based access control (ABAC), and user-managed access (UMA) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of enterprise software product management experience
  • Experience delivering online or managed services
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for planning meetings, customer engagements, and conferences; travel will be reimbursed by Red Hat 
  • Experience with open source technologies and business models is a plus
